Join Antarctic Heritage Trust’s Inspiring Explorers Expedition™ Ross Sea Antarctica
Are you ready to grow your explorer mindset and step out of your comfort zone?
We are looking for a range of young people aged between 18–35 with an interest in Antarctic history, and a desire to grow their explorer mindset, and be pushed outside their comfort zone.
Application Process
The application process has several parts.
Part 1
Register/create an account, then complete the online application form. This involves answering written questions, entering your contact information, providing the details of a professional referee (please note this person cannot be related to you), and completing a declaration. Take your time with this application, you’re able to save your work and return at a later time.
After you’ve completed part one, you will receive an email with details on how to complete part two of your application.
Part 2
Record videos of yourself answering a set of interview questions using a platform called Sparkhire. We will provide the questions ahead of time so you can plan and practice your answers, and you will have the opportunity to re-record your answers if you’re unhappy with the first attempt.
Part 3
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in a live video interview with the Antarctic Heritage Trust team.
Part 4
The Antarctic Heritage Trust will advise successful applicants.

Before you Apply
You will need to:
- Ensure you meet the Eligibility Criteria.
- Review the Timeline for the application process and all aspects of the expedition programme. In particular, there are specific requirements around dates that you must be available before, during, and after the expedition. It is important that you discuss these with your employer or study provider if you need time off for these periods.
- Make sure you are familiar with the Outreach component of this expedition, and ensure that you are willing to take part in both the individual and group outreach project.
- Read the FAQ page to ensure you understand the other requirements for taking part in the expedition.
- Take the time to speak with your Referee about the expedition and the role you’re applying for, so that they can provide relevant answers on your behalf. Be aware that as soon as you complete part one of the application process your referee will receive an email asking them to answer several questions about you.
- Select a profile photo (headshot), and ensure you have a video and audio-enabled computer or smart phone, you will need these for part two of the application process.
