• Applications for the Inspiring Explorers Expedition™ Ross Sea Antarctica open at inspiringexplorers.co.nz 

Monday 5 October 2026 

• Applications close at midnight (NZDT) 

Monday 19 October 2026 

• By this date, applicants will be notified about their advancement to the interview stage. 

Tuesday 27 October – Friday 30 October 2026 

• Online interviews conducted with Inspiring Explorers Expedition™ selection panel. 

Tuesday 3 November 2026 

• By this date, applicants will be notified about their inclusion in the Inspiring Explorers Expedition™ team. 

Friday 20 November – Tuesday 24 November 2026 

• Team Building weekend in Christchurch (NZ) which expedition team members are required to attend. 

Tuesday 5 January – Wednesday 3 February 2027 

• Inspiring Explorers Expedition™ Ross Sea 2027 takes place.

Friday 9 April – Sunday 11 April 2027 

• Post expedition debrief weekend which expedition team members are required to attend. 

• Outreach – This is also the deadline for team members to have written a blog about the expedition for publication on the Trust’s website. 

Friday 6 August 2027 

• Individual outreach deadline – Team members are required to deliver three presentations about the expedition to groups or organisations in their community within six months of returning home. 

Throughout 2027 – 2028 

• Work alongside Antarctic Heritage Trust to deliver the group outreach project, producing a visitor guide to the historic huts that will help prepare thousands of visitors before they enter the Ross Sea historic huts just as you had.
